Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws displayed clinical efficiency on the hardwood, scoring a back-to-back sweep against the Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons, 18-9, and the University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors, 21-5, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 88 women’s 3x3 basketball tournament yesterday, April 30, at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.

Fueled by Amyah Espanol's offensive explosion and a cohesive team effort, the twin victories propelled the Morayta-based squad to the second spot in the standings.

The Lady Tamaraws established control midway through the frame, building a 10-6 cushion courtesy of Espanol’s steady scoring. While the Lady Falcons tried to chip away at the lead, the green-and-gold squad responded with a decisive run to gain full control of the momentum.

Espanol continued her onslaught, pushing the lead to 13-7 before the FEU cagebelles eventually reached the win, 18-9.

Leading the charge in the blowout, Espanol put up an all-around performance with 10 points and seven rebounds. Victoria Pasilang provided significant support with six markers and four boards, while Maxene Dela Torre anchored the interior with four rebounds.

In their second game of the day, the Morayta-based team decimated the UE Lady Warriors in a defensive masterclass that ended well before the 10-minute regulation whistle.

FEU ignited the match with a 9-0 scoring blitz courtesy of Espanol and Pasilang, effectively burying UE in a massive hole from the tip-off.

Dela Torre continued to power the interior to push the count to 11-2, before Espanol took over with a flurry of buckets to eventually end the rout early, 21-5.

Remaining relentless, Espanol spearheaded the offense with 11 points and four rebounds, while Dela Torre provided a strong presence inside with five points and six boards, with Elaine Patio contributing four points and a team-high seven rebounds to secure the blowout victory.

Sitting at a 4-1 win-loss standing, the Lady Tamaraws aim to build on this run in their next match as they face off against National University later today, May 1, at the same venue.
