#NewsBites: Far Eastern University (FEU) TAMang Boto and Office of Student Involvement announced the appointment of new student leaders to fill various academic organizations (AO) vacancies for the school year 2026–2027 yesterday, September 1.
Applications for the vacancies were opened after the FEU Commission on Elections (COMELEC) proclaimed only 70 elected officers, leaving vacant positions on several organizations due to the lack of eligible candidates, with some having no aspiring officers running for the posts during the University elections last May.
With no candidates running in the last elections, some Communication Society vacant posts were fielded, with Johanna Cien Rivera as president, Latifah Leigh Real as vice president, and Jadan Jersey Feliciano as auditor, while the remaining positions are yet to be filled.
Meanwhile, Hailey Seloterio and Abigail Kyla Pamintuan were named the International Studies Society’s president and vice president, respectively. They are also joined by newly appointed auditor Denniel Dela Cruz and press relations officer Maria Teresa Talde, completing the organization’s set of officers.
Janelle Nuñez has also been appointed as treasurer of the Medical Technology Society, with only the president and press relations officer posts left unoccupied.
However, positions for some student councils (SC) and AOs remain vacant, including the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts SC vice president and the Institute of Education SC auditor post, along with the Nursing Society’s auditor seat and all Hotel and Restaurant Management Society officer positions.
Per the FEU COMELEC, only 7,018 out of 20,045 enrolled students voted during the last University elections with an overall voter turnout of 35 percent.
