Far Eastern University (FEU) Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) Student Council (SC) held simultaneous workshops during their ‘Project BOOST!: Building Organization and Operational Skills Training 2025’ at the Arts Building Gym, Science Building Rooms 110-112, and Admissions Building Rooms 207-A, 207-B, 309, and 405 last November 25.
Each workshop focused on boosting students’ knowledge and skills on topics such as contract literacy, project and events management, quantitative data analysis, mathematics, video editing, and dance.
The ‘PROJECT BOOST!: Enhancing One’s Contract Reading and Writing Skills’ workshop centered on contract literacy skills taught by Atty. Etheldreda Ferrer-Dadulla.
Ferrer-Dadulla explained the importance of every contract created and signed in the court of law in cases of misunderstanding or refusal to abide by its terms.
Similarly, the ‘Lead Within — Strengthening the Mind Behind the Role’ workshop was led by speakers Chloe Madlangbayan, Jedidah Laudencia, and Amiela Guia where Guia highlighted the role of ‘Attitude, Skills, and Knowledge,’ or A.S.K.s, and the ‘Attitude, Behavior, and Character,’ or ABCs, in becoming good student leaders.
Furthermore, she emphasized the need to apply the right attitude as leaders and project managers.
“The moment na tama ‘yung attitude mo, magiging tama din ‘yung gagawin mo sa buhay (The moment your attitude is right, the things you do in life will also be right),” she said.
Additionally, the IAS SC ran ‘Boost Your Pre-Employment Skills with Résumé Writing and Professional Emailing’ to prepare students for any professional setting they may step into.
Atty. Crystal Prado, a speaker on pre-employment skills, stressed how valuable it is for students to recognize their abilities, particularly as they enter into the workforce.
“You are more than what people think you are. You have a lot to offer,” Prado emphasized.
Meanwhile, ‘Building Confidence Through Dance’ instructor Venjo ‘Kaze B’ Bandal shared the same goal in their workshop which is to make students feel confident through dance expression and movement.
Moreover, the students’ video editing skills were enriched in the ‘Perfect Cut–Transforming Raw Footage into a Cinematic Masterpiece’ segment through speaker Julius Renomeron Jr.
A workshop centered on quantitative analytic skills detailing its significance to the Philippines’ current economic state titled ‘Puzzling Numbers’ was also presented by Presidential Staff Officer IV Teodolfo Bonitez.
The IAS SC partnered with the FEU English Language Circle, FEU Mathematics Society, and FEU IAS Dance Company in launching this event.
