For the first time since the establishment of Isanliyab Servant Leaders’ Union (ISLU) and Kadiwa Student Coalition (KSC) in 2017, three students ran for the Far Eastern University Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) presidency, announced at The Huddle today, April 14.
This splits the presidential electoral race from the usual two from ISLU and KSC to three.
First to file for the presidency is third-year Business Administration student Raezon Gonzales from ISLU, who is the incumbent FEUCSO Auditor.
Third-year Political Science student and FEU Political Science Society President Goeffrey Lababo from KSC also submitted his Certificate of Candidacy for presidency.
Adding to the list is third-year Medical Technology student Lawrence Aidan Cunanan as an independent candidate.
He vied for the same position last year under KSC but lost to ISLU presidential candidate Christmer Roland Ordanes. Cunanan was then appointed as Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing Student Council (IHSN SC) President.
Meanwhile, Tanglawtala also makes its second appearance in the FEU Elections with their full-slated Nursing Society. They also fielded four positions under IHSN SC.
Other student leaders also filed for their candidacy in various positions in FEUCSO, SCs, and Academic Organizations as independent candidates, and under ISLU and KSC.
FEU Commission on Elections proclaimed 130 qualified candidates, three short from last year’s 133.
The campaign period will start tomorrow and will run until April 29.
This year’s election will take place on May 2 and 3.
