Unopposed ISLU slate continues IABF SC streak

Far Eastern University Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance (IABF) Student Council (SC) will be led by the Isanliyab Servant Leaders’ Union (ISLU) after being proclaimed as winners of the FEU Elections 2026 held at Pavilion 1 last May 7.

With 787 votes and 254 abstentions, Jairus Ferdinand Opao is set to continue the IABF SC presidency streak of ISLU since 2017, followed by vice president Arman Ezekiel Avellana with 736 votes and 303 abstentions. 

Meanwhile, Janina Rhean Pascual won the position of secretary with 778 votes and 255 abstentions. 

Meri Josh Mogado was proclaimed as the institute’s next treasurer after earning 675 votes, with 365 students opting to abstain.

Furthermore, Hermione Jannah Marie Maleniza secured victory for the position of auditor after being voted for by 768 IABF students, with 271 abstaining. 

Lastly, Zenia Victoria Genecela will serve as the SC’s press relations officer after receiving 694 votes over 345 abstentions.

For this year’s University Elections, 1,054 out of 3,733 IABF students cast their votes, posting a 28.2-percent voter turnout rate for the institute.
