Far Eastern University (FEU) welcomed incoming freshmen for school year (S.Y.) 2026-2027 with various activities during the ‘#TaraNaSaPIYU: Grand Open House’ event held at the FEU Campus last April 25.
Designed by the Academic Affairs Office and Admissions and Financial Assistance (AFA) Office, the initiative engaged students with the ‘FEU Hands-On Onboarding and Opportunities for Freshies,’ an interactive, reward-based experience where incoming freshmen can earn points on their ‘Tam-Pass’ through various activities.
The program also featured different workshops and a campus tour that gave incoming first-years a sneak peak into their prospective college programs and University life.
Additionally, AFA Director Eugeene Emmanuel Benicta shared that incoming Tamaraws may also take the College Advance Credit Program (CACP) for the upcoming S.Y. starting May.
Introduced last year, the CACP allows students to earn credits in selected general education courses, including Art Appreciation (GED0106), Philippine Popular Culture and Discourses (GED0123), and Culture, Society, Innovations, and Ideas (GED0117).
In an online interview with FEU Advocate, AFA Office Vice President Dr. Michelle Acomular revealed that there are more events lined up for incoming freshmen in the next three months, including ‘TamTalks,’ which will feature the different programs offered in the University, and several more open house events across all campuses.
"There are several activities lined up over the next three months leading up to the opening of classes. These include ‘TamTalks,’ which will highlight program offerings at FEU Manila, along with additional open house events, campus tours, and parents’ info sessions across all campuses of FEU Schools," she shared.
‘TamTalks’ for programs under the Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing will take place on May 9, followed by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management on May 22.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Education and Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts will hold their talks on June 6, while programs under the Institute of Arts and Sciences are scheduled for June 20.
Lastly, orientations for programs under the Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance are set to take place on July 4.
Additionally, #TaraNaSaPIYU will also be conducted in various FEU campuses, including FEU Diliman and FEU Alabang on May 9 and in FEU Roosevelt and FEU Cavite on May 16.
After the program, incoming freshmen took the free FEU College Admission Test (FEUCAT) set during the afternoon.
The FEUCAT for S.Y. 2026-2027 is still ongoing, with testing dates scheduled for next month including May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
Aiming to promote the University’s academic initiatives, the open house is in partnership with FEU Manila, FEU Institute of Technology, and FEU High School.
