Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF) was named as the only top performing school in the recently concluded March and September 2020 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE).
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday that 800 out of 1,424 medicine graduates passed this year’s board exams, translating to an average of 56.18% national passing rate.
109 FEU-NRMF examinees passed out of 119 candidates who completed the examination, posting an average of 91.60-percent passing rate.
Meanwhile, Maria Carla Buenaflor of University of the Philippines-Manila led the licensure exams with a rating of 89.17 percent followed by John Marlon Lintan of University of Santo Tomas and Dhonna Cambronero of Davao Medical School Foundation with a rating of 88.00 and 87.92 percent, respectively.
FEU-NRMF also topped the board exams last March 2019 with 97.96% overall school performance rate, while it ranked fourth in September 2019 with 98.34%.
In coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), PRC decided to conduct the second part of the examinations on September 20 and 21 which was postponed last March due to the pandemic.
This is in response to the Department of Health’s (DOH) call for additional medical doctors to augment the need of medical professionals attending to the COVID-19 cases in the country.
The results were released eight working days after the last day of PLE.
