After two years of break from news, FEU Advocate alumna and journalist Jamela Aisha Alindogan announced her new stint as a Foreign Affairs Editor and Public Affairs Anchor for Bilyonaryo News Channel today, September 13.

Alindogan took a break to complete her master’s degree in International Security from the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals last year.

She graduated from Far Eastern University (FEU) with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication last 2006 and later worked as a correspondent for Al Jazeera English in the Philippines for over 16 years.

The former FEU Advocate writer will reunite with former ABS-CBN colleagues such as Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Pinky Webb, Ces Drilon, Marie Lozano, and more.

“What makes this even more meaningful is reuniting with former ABS-CBN colleagues and friends —Korina, Pinky, Ces, Marie, and more—while reporting for a Filipino audience. Joining a startup with endless opportunities to create, collaborate, and shape new stories for the public was an opportunity I just couldn’t resist,” she said in a Facebook post.

Alindogan as a journalist covered the hostage siege in Zamboanga and the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda, both in 2013.

She also co-founded the organization Sinagtala Center For Women and Children in Conflict supporting internally displaced women and children in conflict zones.
