Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws Head Coach Bert Flores expressed that the team needed confidence for their next games after falling short contra National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs, 53-80, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 women’s basketball tourney at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila City earlier today, November 6.

"Gusto namin magkaroon ng confidence going to UP… kasi UP [tapos] against Adamson and then Ateneo to last UST, kahit maka-tatlo [na panalo] lang kami (We want to have confidence going to UP... because UP [then] against Adamson and then Ateneo to last UST, we just have to get three [wins]),” Coach Flores said in an interview with FEU Advocate.

Green-and-gold captain Camille Taguiam came as the top scorer for the Lady Tams with 20 points, four steals, and three assists.

Taguiam contributed a three-point shot to cut down the NU’s lead by 12 points with 1:25 ticks left in the third canto.

During the final frame, the Morayta cagebelles were limited to producing nine points, leading to their eighth season loss.

Coach Flores added that the team encountered problems with execution and lack of height despite Taguiam’s leadership and the team’s efforts against the undefeated Lady Bulldogs.

"'Yun nga ang problema namin, execution…Unang-una sa height, wala tayong import. Nandoon naman ang extra pass and ‘yung leadership ni Taguiam. Okay naman ang effort nila (The problem is with our execution... First of all with our height, we don't have any import. Taguiam's extra pass and leadership are there. Their effort is okay),” he stated.

The green-and-gold squad now holds a 2-8 win-loss record and will next face the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons after the Gilas Qualifying Window Break on November 13 at the same venue.
