Continuing their mission from University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 87, the Far Eastern University (FEU) student-athletes will uphold their ‘Gold is the Goal’ mindset this upcoming Season 88, repping the motto in TAMRally 2025 earlier today, September 9, at Pavilion 1.

In an interview with FEU Advocate, FEU Athletics Director Mark Molina explained the meaning behind the University’s choice of reusing the motto for this season. 

“FEU kasi, this is the home of [champions]. Throughout the history ng UAAP, we’re the most successful in a lot of sports… We don’t compete in the UAAP just to participate. We want championships [and the excellence] to be the very best in all the sports. That’s why gold is always the goal. That’s the thing that we want to impart [to] all of our athletes,” he said.

This year’s pep rally was originally scheduled to be held at the FEU Grandstand, but technical difficulties caused it to be moved to Pavilion 1.

UAAP Seasons 86 and 87 FEU Correspondent Mae Reyes led the program for the third straight year, this time with Season 85 FEU Courtside Reporter Kylla Castillo.

The event featured homegrown performances from the FEU Drummers, FEU Cheerleaders, and FEU Drum and Bugle Corps, which led into the Parade of Athletes, as well as intermissions from the FEU Street Alliance and FEU Cheerleaders - Pom Team.

Meanwhile, Molina also highlighted the ‘Be Brave’ chant of FEU and its importance to the student-athletes, a mantra that has been with the University from its start.

“In any sport or life in general, if you see successful people, one of the things that is characteristic [to them] is being brave… This is the most important thing. There’s no winning formula unless the team or individual is brave. That’s why we adopt this as the [motto] of the FEU Tamaraws because in any athletic competition, you always have to be brave,” he added.

The TAMRally is an annual event organized by the FEU Athletics Office and the FEU Marketing and Communications Office, with the purpose of highlighting the University’s student-athletes before the start of a UAAP season.
