Far Eastern University (FEU) honored 96 Graduate Studies graduands and their academic achievements during the inaugural Hooding Ceremony held at the FEU Auditorium last June 25.

In an online interview with FEU Advocate, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies Dr. Arnel Bravo shared that the Master of Business Education program had 44 graduands, wherein 33 came from FEU Manila and 11 came from FEU Makati.

There were also 41 graduands from the Master of Arts in Nursing program, 5 graduands from the Master of Arts in Education program, and 4 graduands from the Doctor of Education program.

In addition, the Master of Arts in Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology programs had one graduand, respectively.

FEU President Michael Alba further explained during the ceremony that the hoods were presented to distinguish the graduates from those who are earning bachelor's degrees, as part of the traditional academic regalia.

“The hoods add colors to the academic robe differentiated by discipline, to mark the successful pursuit of an advanced degree and dignify the wearer's commitment to a scholarly life,” he said.

In Dr. Bravo’s speech, he then emphasized the event’s significance as a milestone in FEU history.

“May this be the beginning of an honored tradition that will inspire more postgraduate students to aim higher toward academic excellence,” he expressed.

The Graduate Studies’ Commencement Exercises are set to take place on June 30 and July 1 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
