Far Eastern University (FEU) Department of Political Science alumnus Felix Reyes was appointed as the new Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last May 28.

Reyes completed his bachelor’s degree at FEU in 1981 and obtained his law degree at the University of the East in 1986.

He already worked under PCSO as a member of the Board of Directors since November 2022.

Prior to the appointment, Reyes served as a two-term Philippine Judges Association President from 2018 to 2021 and the Marikina Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge from 2006 to 2021.

The 63-year-old retired judge also became the acting presiding judge of Lipa City RTC from February 2011 to September 2021, Taguig City RTC Branch 70 from 2017 to 2019, and Calamba City RTC from 2011 to 2013.

He took his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on the same day of the announcement.

Malacañang did not cite any reasons why Reyes replaced Junie Cua as chair.

Being under the Office of the President, PCSO holds lotteries, charity sweepstakes, and races to fund welfare programs, medical services, and charities.
