FEU alumna among 10 finalists for esteemed global Nursing award

Far Eastern University (FEU) Nursing alumna Laarni Florencio was recognized as one of the Top 10 finalists from a pool of 78,000 applicants across 203 countries for the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2024, with the winner to be announced in Bengaluru, India this December.

The finalists were released by Aster DM Healthcare last October 15.

Florencio completed her studies at FEU in 1990 and received the 2023 FEU Green and Gold Awards Outstanding Alumni.

The finalist is also the program director for Nursing Continuing Professional Development at New York Presbyterian. 

As a leading advocate for Nursing education, Florencio currently serves as the president of the Philippine Nurses Association of New York, Inc. and an executive board member for the Watson Caring Science Institute.

Fellow Filipinos Maria Victorio Juan and UAE-based Nelson Bautista also emerged as one of the finalists.

Aster DM Healthcare is a for-profit private hospital network across the globe, aiming to provide quality and affordable healthcare to at least 20 million patients per year.
