Instituto Estetico Manila (IEM) Greg Dolor bagged the 2nd Spikers' Turf Open Conference Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and the 1st Best Middle Blocker for the Phoenix Volley Masters.
"Hindi ko siya in-expect kasi iniisip ko lang maglalaro ako, iniisip ko lang na bawat game ay last game ko na, gusto ko lang manalo ang team (I did not expect it [to win] because everytime I would play, I think that every game is my last game, I just wanted the team to win)," Dolor admitted after bagging the award.
Far Eastern University’s (FEU) hard-hitting spiker showcased his talent during the elimination round, earning 16.6 points to earn himself the 1st Middle Blocker citation.
Dolor carried Phoenix Volley Masters to the semifinals before losing to Philippine Air Force. Leading the race for blocking statistical category with an average of 0.75 kill blocks per set, on the other hand, registered 47.10% attacking efficiency.
"Maganda dahil nagbunga ‘yung pinaghirapan ko ng ilang taon at dahil doon nakakuha ako ng experience at na-improve ko ang sarili ko (It’s great because the years of hardwork paid off, which helped me gain experience and improve myself)," Dolor shared.
As the captain of FEU Mens Volleyball Team (FEUMVT), this triumph will motivate the team to cure the wounds in their hearts from last season and to perform better for the upcoming University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 79.
