Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, Institute of Technology (Tech), Cavite, and Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (NRMF) were listed in the top institutions with online presence and research productivity in the January 2025 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
The main campus led the Group of Schools slipping into rank 5548, three ranks lower than last January 2024’s 5545.
Despite the decline, FEU Manila rose three ranks higher in the Philippines, hailing 20th from 23rd.
Meanwhile, FEU Tech, listed as FEU East Asia College, placed 5,871st, more than 200 ranks higher than 6,118th last 2024.
FEU-NRMF, named as FEU Institute of Medicine, dropped at least 4,000 ranks from top 14,890 last year to top 18990 this 2025.
Additionally, FEU Cavite declined with almost 2,000 ranks from 23,835th to 25,746th.
In the country, University of the Philippines Diliman reclaimed its top spot in the rankings followed by De La Salle University, University of the Philippines System, Ateneo de Manila University, and University of Santo Tomas.
The ranking, which started in 2004, evaluated around 32,000 higher education institutions from all over the world based on research performance and online impact.
Webometrics use three indicators: visibility, transparency openness, and excellence to rank the institutions, with web data gathered during the first days of January while bibliometric information was collected from 2019 to 2023.
