Far Eastern University (FEU) Tams FX (TFX) Atlas advanced to the semifinals after a streaking victory in their quarterfinals match against Mapua University MGS Ares in the Alliance Games Season 3 Call of Duty (COD: M) Group Stage Playoffs held yesterday, June 2 at the National University - Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

The Morayta-based shooters led the scoreboard early in Hardpoint by targeting 25 kills during the first 15 seconds of the match.

TFX Atlas struggled to retain their lead due to MGS Ares constant attacks, but FEU’s Kharl Paras (TFX McFly) persistently gunned fires along with Ivan Calayaca’s (TFX Tim) triple kills to get the win, 250-241.

During the Search and Destroy and Control Phase, TFX executed steady strats and defense to put MGS Ares scoreless, ending with a 3-0 overall score.

In a post-game interview with FEU Advocate, player of the game TFX Tim shared that they had to stick to the game plan despite their struggles against Mapua.

May mga mistakes kami na ano… 20 seconds like, nagagamit pa namin ‘yung OS [operating system] namin, which is hindi dapat ganu’n ‘yung plan namin. ‘Yun ‘yung sakit namin eh, ‘yung mistakes namin paulit-ulit pa rin. Pero this time, na-come up namin ‘yun nang maayos and nakuha namin ‘yung win, na-close namin nang maayos. Then stick pa rin kami sa game plan, kung ano goal namin (We have mistakes like... 20 seconds, we can still use our OS, which is not supposed to be our plan. That's our struggle, the mistakes that we keep on repeating. But this time, we came up with it well and got the win, we closed it well. Then we still stick to the game plan, from what is our original goal),” he said.

The green-and-gold squad will try to defeat the De La Salle University Viridis Arcus in their semifinal matchup on the second day of CONQuest 2023 today, June 3 at the same venue.
