Far Eastern University (FEU) Induction and Oath-taking Ceremony 2025 Keynote Speaker Ryan Gilbert Chua encouraged the newly elected and appointed student-leaders of accredited student organizations to challenge and change the system as they officially begin their terms at the FEU Main Auditorium yesterday, May 27.
During his speech, the FEU Accountancy alumnus defined leadership and the responsibilities that come with it.
“Leadership is a privilege. It is an opportunity to make a lasting impact to your university. Embrace this role with passion and purpose. You have the power to inspire change, to uplift those around you, and create a legacy that will be remembered,” Chua said.
Furthermore, the speaker also enumerated key traits that leaders should embody.
“It is about integrity, accountability, inclusivity, and the very important is your ability to inspire others. It is about setting an example and being a beacon of hope and guidance to your peers,” he stated.
Additionally, Chua emphasized that a leader must also be courageous enough to stand up for what is right.
Following the alumnus’ speech, outgoing FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) President Christmer Roland Ordanes handed the Key of Responsibility to S.Y. 2025-2026 FEUCSO President Raezon Gonzales, symbolizing the transfer of leadership.
“To my successor, I pass you this torch with full trust. Lead with courage and lead with kindness. Mobilize the students and remind them that their voices do not end in the classroom, they echo into society,” Ordanes urged.
The outgoing president also encouraged the new officers to use their voices with truth, service, and courage.
Meanwhile, Gonzales vowed to provide the green-and-gold community with a data-driven leadership.
“We listen, we survey, we ask tough questions, and most importantly, we look on the numbers and stories… I would carry that same approach as your president. A leadership that listens, a leadership that asks, a leadership that is rooted in truth, data, and empathy,” he said.
Spearheaded by the Student Development Office, the Induction and Oath-taking Ceremony is an annual event marking the start of the term of Institute Student Councils, Academic bodies, and University-wide organizations’ new officials.
