Following her short-lived stint with the Capital1 Solar Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League, former Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraw Heather Guino-o signed with the Cignal HD Spikers, announced on the team’s official Facebook post today, May 5.
The former Morayta volleybelle now rejoins forces with former University Athletics Association of the Philippines teammates Gel Cayuna, Gyzelle Sy, Buding Duremdes, and Chin Basas. Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos was also Guino-o and the Lady Tamaraws’ head coach in Season 78.
During her final collegiate moments in Season 81, Guino-o helped drive the Lady Tamaraws to a semifinals berth, averaging 12.7 points per match and ranking fifth in overall spike efficiency with 28.14 percent—but ultimately fell short against the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles.
Following her exit from FEU, the five-foot-seven hitter joined forces with the Creamline Cool Smashers in 2019 and the BanKo Perlas Spikers in 2021. She also joined the PLDT High Speed Hitters and Petro Gazz Angels in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
In the following season, she spent some time with the Capital1 Solar Spikers; her most recent stint, in which she tallied 93 overall points and averaged a 24.32-percent attack success rate.
Besides Guino-o, Cignal’s recent player acquisitions include University of the Philippines alum Ethan Arce, and De La Salle University alum Tin Tiamzon.
