Former athletes of Far Eastern University (FEU) are auctioning off their jerseys to raise funds for less fortunate and frontliners who help combat the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

Kyle Negrito, Heather Guino-o, Celine Domingo, Gyzel Sy and Wendell Comboy are all part of the auction drive spearheaded by ‘May Twenty Ako, a charity organization that kicked off last March 30.

In an online interview with FEU Advocate, Negrito expressed how she applauds the efforts and hard work of those who organize fund-raising event.

Sobrang na-appreciate po namin ‘yung mga nag-o-organize ng mga [ganito]. Isa lang din siguro ‘tong paraan para makatulong mga atletang kagaya namin (We really appreciate all those who organize [events like this]. It might be also one of our ways, for athletes like us, to help),” said the five-foot-eight setter.

While, Guino-o shared that when she found out about the auction drive, she did not hesitate to join in helping those who are at greater risk of the said virus.

Noong nalaman ko po ‘yan, hindi po ako nagdalawang isip. Pumayag po agad ako kasi kahit sa simpleng jersey makakatulong po ako (I didn’t hesitate [to join the auction drive] when I found out about it. I immediately agreed because I can help with just a simple jersey),” Guino-o shared.

Starting bid for each jersey ranges from P1,000 to P3,000 and bidding will close on Friday, April 3.
