#NewsBites: Far Eastern University (FEU) updated the policies and guidelines of the blended learning modality, which will take effect in the second semester of school year 2025–2026 upon the approval of the Academic Executive Council announced yesterday, December 15.
Based on the new blended learning structure, classes will be conducted face-to-face for weeks 1 to 3, 8 to 9, and 17 to 18; blended for weeks 4 to 7, 10 to 11, and 14 to 16; and a fully online synchronous setup for weeks 12 and 13.
Additionally, the Wellness Recreation Program is expected to follow the new learning schedule, while other courses and programs will abide by a different format that matches their specific learning outcomes and requirements.
During the first semester, FEU implemented a hybrid learning modality with face-to-face classes from Monday to Wednesday and an online setup from Thursday to Saturday.
According to the blended learning survey results with 18,051 respondents, 40 percent prefer more on-site classes, 23 percent want to maintain the current setup, 17 percent requested one week of independent learning, 10 percent expressed interest in customizing the setup per degree program, 6 percent asked for a week of fully online learning, and the remaining 4 percent demand more online classes.
Moreover, 53 percent of Tamaraw respondents voted that the previous schedule of blended learning does not work for them, while the remaining 47 percent stated otherwise.
