FEU bags 23-peat outstanding delegation in 46th YMCA NatCon

Far Eastern University (FEU) garnered the Most Outstanding Delegation Award for the 23rd time in a row at the 46th Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) National Congress of College Students held at the Teacher’s Camp in Baguio City last November 2 to 4.

With the theme ‘YOUnited Leaders: Bridging a Sustainable Society for Everyone,’ the event highlighted the commitment of the delegates to leadership and social responsibility. 

FEU College Y Club (CYC) Vice President for External Affairs Jasper Calara was appointed as the Congress’ Speaker of the House, holding the highest position in the Congress, and marking FEU CYC’s second consecutive year of speakership.

18 FEU delegates were honored as Best Delegates in their respective commissions, including John Galanta, Leandro Gumapos, Paul Tagayon, Lawrence Cunanan, Lendl Hammond, Raezon Gonzales, McSteven Nesperos, Rafael De Ramos, Angelo Tarce, Ullysis Alburo, Christina Eje, Rico Angeles Jr., Samantha Cambe, Christianna Miranda, Adrian Diumano, Kristine Gail Marquez, Marriel Alagano, and Erik Pamplona. 

Alagano, Alburo, Angeles, Cunanan, Eje, Gonzales, Hammond, Marquez, Miranda, Pamplona, and Tagayon also received the Outstanding Delegate award.

Meanwhile, third-year Nursing student James Ron Esturas from Commission 12 bagged the 1st Place Award for the Tuklas Talino Competition.

Four green-and-gold delegates were also elected as the cluster chairpersons, three cluster co-chairpersons, 15 commission chairs, 10 commission co-chairs, four commission rapporteurs, and one commission marshal spread across the twenty commissions of the Congress.

The FEU Delegation represented the University through participating in various competitions such as the Poster Making Contest, Debate, Essay Writing Contest, Extemporaneous Speaking, On-the-Spot Drawing, Photography Contest, Spoken Poetry, Y’ers Got Talent, and Tuklas Talino.

YMCA is a nonprofit organization that started in 1911 in the Philippines which aims to empower the youth in reaching their full potential.
