
Lady Tam Booters, wala pa ring talo sa pag-abante sa preseason finals

Various Far Eastern University (FEU) student-athletes from both the college and high school divisions achieved awards in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 87 closing ceremony last May 20 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The ceremony honored FEU’s Most Valuable Players, namely Ruelle Canino for girls’ chess, Oscar Cantela for boys’ chess, Liam Salangsang for boys’ 3x3 basketball, Mhage Sebastian for women’s chess, Alfrence Braza for men’s athletics, Carmela Altiche for women’s football, and Mon Diansuy for men’s football.
Salangsang was also hailed as the Athlete of the Year in High School Team Sports and FEU’s high school Athlete-Scholar of the Year. Meanwhile, Canino notched the Athlete of the Year award in High School Individual Sports.
For the Rookies of the Year (ROY), boys’ chess’s Joemel Narzabal, boys’ volleyball’s Kenneth Maliwanag, women’s athletics’ Shane Joy Ponce, and men’s football’s Edgar Aban Jr. were present to receive their awards.
Meanwhile, respective ROYs Jerriemy Biton, MJ Bacojo, Veejay Pre, and Janrey Pasaol for boys’ football, men’s chess, men’s basketball, and men’s 3x3 basketball were also recognized despite their absence.
Lady Trackster Susan Ramadan completed the 16-Tamaraw list, being named as the University’s collegiate Athlete-Scholar of the Year.
FEU finished sixth overall in both the college and high school general championships of the UAAP, garnering 176 and 127 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Season 88 host University of Santo Tomas achieved their 48th and 24th overall championships in the respective divisions.
