Far Eastern University (FEU) Wellness and Recreation Program (WRP) Department will hold a three-day event titled ‘WRP Festival’, to help participating students in gaining extra credit hours for WRP, to be held on October 17 and 18.
Students can join in various festival activities such as sports competition, field demonstration, and an online mental health lecture.
A medical examination will be administered for sports competition participants to ensure safety and eligibility, while practice for the field demonstration will also begin on the first day.
On the second day, sports elimination and field demonstration practices will continue.
An awarding ceremony will take place for winners of respective activities after the field demonstration exhibition and final sports matches on the last day of the event, which has yet to be announced.
The registration for mental health webinars was also released by WRP Department on Canvas, that will be conducted via MS Teams on October 16 and 17.
However, students air out their grievances online regarding the activity’s unjust registration as slots were already filled minutes after the announcement with certain groups deemed to be prioritized.
FEU Advocate tried to reach out to the WRP Department regarding the student concerns, but they refused to be interviewed.
According to the WRP Department, students who will have affected scheduled WRP classes will automatically be credited 1.5 hours, since no activities can be booked through PowerApps during the duration of the event.
Registration to sports activities and additional information is posted through WRP’s Canvas announcement.
WRP will also credit 250 students who are able to register and attend FEU men’s basketball match against Adamson University tomorrow, October 18.
