Despite edging out the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers, the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws lost their remaining chances for a Final Four berth in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 88 today, November 26.
The Tamaraws’ win over UST earlier today served as their last line of defense to stay alive in the Final Four race.
However, the said win did not guarantee an extended playoffs berth as a triple tie was needed between De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers and the Ateneo de Manila (AdMU) Blue Eagles.
After having given their all, La Salle ultimately won over Ateneo, automatically eliminating FEU out of contention.
Their game against the Tigers marked as green-and-gold team captain Miguel Ona, one-and-done player Neil Owens, and senior Aeron Bagunu’s final game.
The Morayta-based squad finished with a 7-7 win-loss record, an improved feat from their 5-9 sheet last season.
