Far Eastern University (FEU) Central Student Organization (FEUCSO), Student Development (SDev), and Institute Student Councils (SC) seek resolutions amid the ‘SAYAWIT ‘25: Battle of the Bands’ suspension today, February 14.
‘SAYAWIT ‘25: Battle of the Bands’ was initially scheduled earlier today, but rain and technical issues led to an unanticipated postponement of the event. Various bands from FEU Institutes, FEU High School, and Institute of Technology were set to perform at the FEU Grandstand, with the winner getting the chance to become one of the One Concierto Piyu (OCP) performers.
While the Battle of Dance was able to continue through a venue change to the Engineering Building Mini Auditorium, the Battle of the Bands will be rescheduled to another date this February.
In an interview with FEU Advocate, FEUCSO President Christmer Ordanes relayed that the meeting between the involved organizations led to talks on how the event can still proceed.
“Nagkaroon naman somehow ng amendment na for now, may common ground kami na i-park muna and focus on One Concierto Piyu, and as well as ensuring na proper prep works [are] ma-cascade once OCP is done,” he said.
Ordanes also expressed his understanding over the discontent amid circumstances.
“Personally speaking, nauunawaan ko talaga kung saan nanggagaling ‘yung mga talent organizations. They prepared—finund sila ng mga Insti SC. Naggugol sila ng oras, and of course, expectations para dito. Kaya nauunawaan namin ‘yung frustrations nila,” the FEUCSO President said.
As of writing, no final dates have been set for the Battle of the Bands reschedule.
