After coming off of two championships in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino and Reinforced Conferences, former Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraw Kyle Negrito capped off the Creamline Cool Smashers’ (CCS) historic run, leading them to the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference crown as the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Setter yesterday, September 12, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

“Everything I am [is] because of you, guys. Salamat sa tiwala na binibigay niyo. Mahal na mahal ko kayo (Thank you for the trust that you give. I love you so much),” the champion setter said to her team in her awarding speech.

The CCS clinched their third title in one year and 10th overall championship after a tight five-set thriller against the Cignal HD Spikers, 21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 26-24, 15-13, wherein Negrito tallied 25 excellent sets.

As a result of her outstanding play, the playmaker was recognized as the Finals MVP over teammates Erica Staunton and Bernadeth Pons who fired up 29 and 27 points, respectively, and Cignal’s MJ Perez who dropped 42 huge markers.

The green-and-gold alum also earned the Best Setter award as she led the league in both setting and serving, averaging four excellent sets per game and totalling 10 service aces in only five games in the conference.

In total, Negrito took home three individual awards in 2024 with two Best Setter recognitions and a Finals MVP. She also joined Ced Domingo and Bernadeth Pons as the only FEU alumni to win the latter.
