Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws were left on a four-game losing streak after being dominated by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses, 49-83, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 women’s basketball tournament first round eliminations at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila City today, October 19.

The Lady Tamaraws started the first half of the game with a weak defensive stance as they trail by 20 points against the Tigresses who went full on their offense, 27-47.

FEU struggled to maximize the faults of UST in the match as they only chipped in eight points off turnovers, while recording a 33.3% shooting rate in 37 contested shots from the field.

In a post-game interview with FEU Advocate, Princess Jumuad shared that the team saw how they continued their communication and defense despite the loss against the Tigresses.

“Go pa rin, lumabas din ang communication namin saka defense namin na laging sinasabi nila coach na laban lang kahit ano mangyari (It's still going, our communication also came out as well as our defense like what our coach always say just fight no matter what happens)” Jumuad said.

FEU veteran Jumuad led the team with 17 points, while Team Captain Camille Taguiam contributed 10 points for the rookie-laden squad.

The Morayta-based squad is now at a 1-5 standing, and will face the defending champions National University Lady Bulldogs on Sunday, October 23 at the Ynares Sports Complex in Antipolo City.
