#NewsBites: Far Eastern University Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) and University of San Carlos (USC) School of Arts and Sciences Student Council (SASSC) launched ‘Para sa Sugbo: A Donation Drive for Typhoon Tino Victims,’ today, November 8. 

FEUCSO and USC SASSC accept cash donations via 0928 820 6796 for GCash and 1096 4592 1920 for UnionBank. 

Both organizations also encourage donations of basic necessities such as canned food, water, clothing, sanitary products, blankets, and power banks at the Bunzel Lobby, University of San Carlos, Cebu City, from November 6 to 9. 

All donations made through the initiative are set to be distributed by USC SASSC to the affected local communities. 

As of November 8 at 3 p.m., the organizations have accumulated P27,987 monetary donations. 

On November 3, Typhoon #TinoPH first made its landfall in Silago, Southern Leyte followed by a second landfall in Borbon, Northern Cebu.

The typhoon’s estimated 428 millimeters of rainfall resulted in flash floods that devastated around 3 million families in Cebu, with 204 casualties, 109 displaced, and 156 injured in other affected areas such as Silago, Southern Leyte, Borbon, Cebu, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Iloilo City, and El Nido, Palawan, within 24 hours.
