The sounds of cicadas are heard as I feel the summer heat,
Turning the tassel of my cap, my goals are finally fulfilled.
My heart skips a beat as I march on the floor,
The priceless look in my parents’ eyes,
As I reach for this stained parchment of efforts.
Amidst the congratulations and goodbyes,
The mixture of sorrow and glee came to me.
For everyone shall take different paths as I take mine.
Tears fall onto my cheeks as I utter the words “farewell”.
For I will be eternally grateful, though familiar faces started to blur.
