Far Eastern University (FEU) alumna and TV reporter Ganiel Krishnan has been selected as one of the official candidates for the Miss World Philippines 2021.

"It's official! Feeling all sorts of emotions as I embark on an exciting journey towards @msworldphil!," Krishnan announced on an Instagram post, May 20.

Winning titles in her previous competitions, Krishnan has already established her name in the field of pageantry. She was crowned as the 48th Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific, further earning the second runner-up title in Miss Asia-Pacific International in the same year.

Earlier that year, she also led the 2016 Miss Manila and finished as second runner-up.

Aside from pageantry, Krishnan is also committed to journalism. Earning her degree in Mass Communication in FEU, she began her first media appearance as a sportscaster where she represented the Tamaraws as a courtside reporter in the 78th and 79th seasons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Currently, the 26-year-old Filipino-Indian beauty queen appears as a host, a radio anchor, and a reporter for ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol.

In the post, she also shared her advocacy of giving back to the community thus serving as a Local Government Unit (LGU) volunteer. She also founded the social initiative ‘People I Met’ where she features the stories of Filipino citizens as her way of helping and acts of service.

"My mission is to make gentle ways to send a message that helping is not hard; to make a difference in this world," Krishnan highlighted.

45 candidates will compete for the Miss World Philippines 2021 crown as well as the seven international pageant titles. The grand coronation night is set to stage on July 11.
